The Situation
A Sugar Land homeowner's backyard cedar fence was severely damaged when a large dead tree fell across it during a winter storm. Approximately 40 feet of fencing was destroyed, and the tree was still lying across the fence line. They needed both the tree removed and the fence replaced.
Phase 1: Tree Removal
Our crew first removed the fallen tree from the fence:
- Cut the tree into manageable sections
- Carefully lifted sections off the damaged fence panels
- Removed the remaining stump and ground it below grade
- Cleared all debris from the fence line
Phase 2: Fence Installation
After the tree was cleared, our fence crew got to work:
- Removed all damaged posts and panels (approximately 40 linear feet)
- Set new 4x4 treated posts in concrete at 8-foot intervals
- Installed new cedar pickets to match the existing fence style
- Replaced the damaged gate with a new one
- Stained the new section to blend with the existing fence
