Tree Trimming on Autumn Creek Ln, Kingwood, TX
Project Overview
- Location: Autumn Creek Ln, Kingwood, TX
- Service: Tree Trimming (5 trees)
- Date: January 2026
The Situation
Kingwood is known for its beautiful tree-lined streets and wooded lots. A homeowner on Autumn Creek Ln had five large oaks in their backyard that had grown together into a dense, dark canopy. While they loved the shade, the lack of sunlight was killing their grass and the dense branches were a concern heading into storm season.
Our Approach
The goal was to maintain the shade benefits while improving light penetration and reducing storm risk. For each tree, we performed:
- Crown cleaning - Removed all dead, broken, and crossing branches
- Crown thinning - Reduced canopy density by approximately 20%
- Crown raising - Lifted the canopy to 12 feet over the lawn
- Clearance pruning - Created 5 feet of clearance from the roof
Special Considerations
With five large oaks growing closely together, we had to carefully plan which branches to remove so the trees would remain balanced relative to each other. Removing too much from one tree could shift wind loads and create new problems.
The Results
The backyard was transformed from a dark, cave-like space to a bright area with beautiful dappled shade. Within weeks, the homeowner reported that their grass was already beginning to green up in areas that had been bare.
