Tree Removal on Barkers Ridge Ln, Cypress, TX
Project Overview
- Location: Barkers Ridge Ln, Cypress, TX
- Service: Tree Removal (2 trees)
- Date: December 2025
The Situation
A Cypress homeowner contacted HamodaTrees about two large loblolly pine trees in their backyard. Both trees were approximately 60 feet tall and had been dropping large dead branches for months. Several had already damaged the patio cover, and the homeowner was concerned about their roof.
Our Assessment
Upon inspection, we found that both pines were suffering from pine bark beetle infestation. The telltale signs were:
- Pitch tubes (small masses of resin) on the trunk
- Boring dust in bark crevices
- Thinning canopy with brown needles
- Exit holes in the bark
Once pine bark beetles take hold, the trees cannot be saved. We recommended removal of both trees to prevent the beetles from spreading to healthy pines in the neighborhood.
The Removal
Our crew brought in a crane for this job due to the height of the trees and the limited backyard access. The process included:
- Setting up the crane in the driveway with outriggers
- Rigging and lifting each section over the house to the front yard
- Cutting and loading debris directly onto our trucks
- Grinding both stumps below grade
The Results
The homeowner was relieved to have the hazard eliminated and impressed by the efficiency of the crane operation. What could have been a multi-day job was completed in a single day.
